The fifth edition of Midwifery Casebook: A Practical Record of Maternal and Newborn Nursing for BSc Nursing Students is prepared with a focus on enabling midwifery students to effectively perform the nursing process, which involves clinical decision making derived from accurate data collection. The most pressing needs of mothers and newborns that the nurse/midwife can manage within the scope of her practice are discovered through assessment findings by employing sound diagnostic reasoning. The process encompasses an individualized approach to the client’s unique situation, personal preferences and needs by implementing the different phases of nursing process. ‘Short Notes’ and ‘Clinical Procedures’ sections have been supplemented with figures and revised data to enhance the level of clinical performance of students. This edition of the casebook retains all the content, which has been well received by faculty and students of midwifery who used the previous editions.
