If exclusively or partially breastfeeding: Give your baby 10 mcg (400 IU) of liquid vitamin D daily, starting in the first few days after birth. Continue giving your baby 10 mcg (400 IU) of vitamin D until you wean them and they start consuming 32 ounces (about 1 liter) of vitamin D-fortified formula per day, or whole cow's milk after 12 months of age.

If you are feeding your baby less than 32 ounces (about 1 liter) of vitamin D-fortified formula per day: Give your baby 10 mcg (400 IU) of liquid vitamin D daily, starting in the first few days after birth.
