The progress of science is attributed to experimentation, where the researcher carries out his own experiment, obtains some information, and based on it reaches results that usually go beyond the materials and processes of his own experiment and include all similar experiments. That is, he applies the statistical inference approach to obtain new knowledge from the part about the whole. The statistical inference approach does not give certain or inevitable generalizations, but the degree of confidence in it can be measured if the experiment was designed according to certain scientific foundations and principles.
