Product details

All Barry wanted her mother to do was to piece together the disjointed and disjointed memories of her past and help her turn what she remembered into some kind of coherent sequence of events. But Mama wasn't saying much. Withheld from her much about her childhood in Kabul, she kept Pari out of the past until the little girl stopped asking. Now it appears that Mama disclosed everything to this journalist in the magazine? She tells Étienne Postoller about herself and her life at that meeting as she has not done with her only daughter over the years. Barry doesn't know that she doesn't know anything. And perhaps this was her mother's true intent from the beginning: to shake Barry's world, to intentionally turn it upside down, to turn her into a stranger to himself, to make her more suspicious of everything Barry thought she knew about her life, to make her feel so lost as if she were wandering. At night in a desert, surrounded by darkness and the unknown, and to feel the reality cloudy, like a tiny light flashing in the distance intermittently, moving elusively and receding forever. Barry thought that perhaps this was Mama's punishment for her affair with Julian, and for the frustration she had always been with her mother. Barry, who was supposed to put an end to her mother's struggles with drinking, her relationships with men, and the years wasted trying to find happiness. All those goals ended as they were. Each lash of frustration left the mother more broken and deviated, and more delusional about happiness. What was I to you, mom? Barry thought. What was I supposed to be after I was born from you, from your womb, that is, if I was supposed to be born from your womb? Did you plant a seed of hope in your life? Was I a ticket you bought to break free from the dark? Were you a bandage that you put on to heal you from that scar in your heart? And if that's true, then I wasn't enough for you. I wasn't enough for you even a little bit. I wasn't your pain balm. I was just another dead end in your life, just a burden to you, and you must have found that out very early on. You must have realized it. But.. what could you have done? You can't just go to a store and sell me
