The author’s reliance on the law of causality in interpreting the characters’ positions did not only open the doors of that era wide open, for history is not events and positions independent and disjointed from their context and the circumstances of their occurrence, but rather created an endless successive relationship that does not only go backwards, but leads us in all directions. In addition to this, it covered the bones of the inanimate historical characters with flesh, made blood flow in them, and transformed historical events into a novel of human conflict in its highest manifestations.
