Charger board

The board is designed for 3S Li‑ion configurations, meaning three cells in series to achieve 11.1V–12.6V with a nominal cell voltage around 3.6–3.7V. It supports common formats like 18650 and 26650 cells. This makes it suitable for small to medium power tools and other devices that operate in the 3S voltage range, offering protection without balancing.

It measures about 41×55×3.4 mm, a compact footprint that fits neatly into tight tool enclosures or custom builds. The small size helps with easy mounting and reduces wiring length, which can improve current handling and heat dissipation. Even in compact layouts, make sure you maintain good ventilation to keep temperatures in check.

Continuous discharge current is up to 40A, with a maximum transient near 40A. In practice, this means a device drawing high startup current should stay within these values to avoid triggering protection. If your tool’s startup current is close to 80A or more, this board may not be suitable without redesigning the power path or using a different protection module.

This protector is ideal for electric drills or drill motors with starting currents below 80A and total power under about 130W, with a resistive load under 504W. It’s intended for three‑cell packs and helps safeguard against over‑current and short circuits while keeping the system compact for DIY or hobby builds.

Ensure good cooling, check wiring connections for tightness and correct polarity, and verify that all connections are insulated. Regularly inspect for signs of overheating during initial tests and avoid continuous high‑load conditions beyond the stated limits. If you plan frequent high‑current use, consider additional cooling or a protection board with a higher current rating.

No balancing function is included on this enhanced version, so you won’t be able to balance cells using this board alone. If balancing is critical for your setup, pair it with a separate balancing solution or a different BMS that supports balancing for 3S packs.
