The speed class and write speed rating are the most critical. UHS-I/U3 and C10 ratings indicate sustained write performance, which prevents video frame drops during high-motion moments. In this category, higher capacity paired with fast write speeds ensures smooth recording and reliable overwrites, especially for 4K or loop-recording modes across different dash cam models.

Both matter, but balance them based on your recording mode. If you record in high resolution and use loop mode, prioritize faster write speeds and ample capacity. For simple 1080p footage, a smaller capacity with decent speed may suffice. If you are unsure, select mid-to-high range capacities with U3 or better to avoid clipping and data loss.
